Who we are
The Quoin is a living laboratory where we develop and deploy technologies, products and practices to accelerate regeneration at scale.
Our approach
Reimagine
business models
The Quoin is powered by business models that regenerate nature, rather than deplete it.
Learn moreRethread
knowledge systems
The Quoin will unite landowners, farmers, First Peoples, scientists and technologists.
Learn moreRegenerate
natural ecosystems
We’re committed to regenerating damaged and declining ecosystems to secure a future for threatened species.
Learn moreReturn
people to nature
We’ll create ongoing opportunities for people to connect with the Midlands unique biodiversity.
Learn moreLearning by doing
To solve a problem, you must deeply understand it.
But the nature crisis is no ordinary problem. It’s the most complex problem humanity has ever faced.
The only way to understand a problem of such complexity is to learn by doing… which is exactly what we’re doing in Lutruwita/Tasmania, in the heart of the Midlands, at our demonstration property The Quoin.

In the Midlands
The Midlands is home to native woodlands and grasslands so critical — and so threatened — that it’s been named one of Australia’s 20 Priority Places.
The Quoin is located in the Midlands’ heart, with three endangered animals and three critically endangered ecological communities identified on the property to date.
Protecting the region’s last remaining intact ecosystems is critical — and a fleeting opportunity.

To reimagine regeneration
We call The Quoin a demonstration landscape because we’re committed to sharing our learnings.
Already, we’re learning what it takes to restore an ecosystem, what measuring and monitoring is needed and how to combine conservation and commercial activities.
By sharing this knowledge, we hope to unlock change at scale.
